Yes! The 2021 runDisney Virtual Summer Series was announced yesterday! The “mane” event features the beloved, timeless classic, The Lion King with three 5Ks! All the details are below, and those that sign up for the runDisney Series Virtual Challenge (all three 5Ks) receive a fourth medal, plus a keepsake!

runDisney has only given a few days’ notice before registration opens for the event, and it is sure to sell out quickly. Registration opens Thursday, April 8th at 10 a.m. EDT. As outlined here, log into your runDisney account before the registration window opens to save valuable time during the registration process.
runDisney 2021 Virtual Series Circle of Life!
In the sixth year of the runDisney Virtual Series, we join in the “Circle of Life” with each of the three races. Plus, each race focuses on an element that brought The Lion King to life!

The Challenge medal features Rafiki’s Ancient Tree painting of Simba, with the red baobab marking across his mane!

runDisney Virtual Series REGISTRATION can be found here! If this is your first runDisney event, create an account before registering for any events. (Go to top right hand of webpage where it says “Help & Support.” Then choose “Manage Account.”)
Remember, if you plan to complete the Virtual Challenge (all three 5Ks), you must sign up for the challenge versus each race individually!
DATES to complete the races, or series are June 1st – August 31st.
COST is $40 per event, or $145 for the Series Challenge. There is no discount for Disney AP holders, or DVC members (nor early registration). Note, this excludes the 6.6% processing fee.
As with all runDisney virtual races, you receive for for each event!:
- 5K course race route of your choosing
- Downloadable Race Bib
- Downloadable Finisher Certificate
- Starting line, finishing line, and printable mile markers
- Playlist access from WD Records on different streaming services (ie: Spotify)
- Access to ideas, costumes, and inspiration on the runDisney blog
- Share your race experiences at #runDisneyVirtual
- If you complete the Series Challenge, you receive a runDisney Virtual Series Keepsake, and of course, the Series Challenge Medal
